My Computer Wont Sleep?!

I am running Windows 8.1, when i try to manually put the PC into sleep mode sometimes it goes to sleep (as in fans shut down and the PC is silent) but will just turn right back on after a few seconds minutes or even hours and my monitor remains asleep.I just want my PC to go to sleep and remain asleep! Please Help!

check the Wake On settings in the BIOS...

you might want to go to control panel device manager, locate your network adapter
select the power management tab
unselect the "allow this device to wake the computer"

if you have more that one windows machine they will talk to each other depending on your multimedia settings and will even wake each other from sleep.
