So my Computer decided to go haywire on me again. The system has been fairly solid besides this problem here. This happened once last year around July 2014. But it magically fixed itself so i just continued on till it happened again yesterday.

Here Is My Build

Windows 8.1
P6X58D Premium - Motherboard
6 x 2gb GSkill 12 GB total in Triple Channel - RAM
NZXT 1000W Hale 90 - PSU
Intel Core i7 950 - CPU (not over clocked)
1 x EVGA GTX 970 - GPU
One 1TB and Two 500gb - Hard Drives

So basically the computer refuses to turn on. The switch has no response when i turn it on and even the On Board Switch doesn't respond when i click it. I tried to jump the switch prongs and they still don't respond. But here is the thing they do work though. So i decided to use a paper clip jump the 24pin power on the PSU (green power wire and ground) that's already connected to the motherboard.

1. Using paper clip jump the PSU
2. Press the power button on the case
3. Pull the paper clip back out

When i jump the PSU with the paper clip the system doesnt truly turn on until i press the power button on the case. Basically only the fans turn on until the button on the case is pressed. So yeah switches work.

This is so far the only way i can turn on the computer as of now. Also the computer apparently doesnt goto sleep it kinda just turns off. So like i said before this happened before almost exactly one year ago but after a few weeks or so of turning it on with the paper clip it just started to work normally again which was the weirdest shyt ever but hey whatever it fixed itself i was happy and i saved myself money but its happening again now. Im kinda narrowing it down to either the PSU or motherboard mostly the motherboard though. But if anybody else has any ideas please share Maybe its time to upgrade cause its pretty hard to find a new 1366 mobo now a days.

Thanks You

Note: Everything is connected correctly i checked when i decided to rebuilt it just to narrow the problems. The system has been running for couple of years so before this happened. So i dont think i connected something wrong lol. Polarity everything checked and correct as i can see.

do you any spare PSU? if you have use that then try booting your pc with just CPU, memory and GPU..no HDD.. btw the paper clip test is to test the PSU if there is power coming through it. but you will need a PSU tester or a multi tester to test the actual volt/watt the PSU is outputting.

to test the PSU using a multi tester https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac7YMUcMjbw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPEqKP1xOy8

or buy one of this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16899705003

I replaced the CMOS battery with a new one still the same.

I replaced the NZXT 1000W Hale 90 with a Corsair CX Series CX750 i got a from a friend to test it but same results.

The only reason im using the paper clip is because its the only way i found to turn on my computer. I jump the cables with it connected to the mobo and press the power button and then pull the paper clip out after. Computer starts up normally and runs normally. The only time that it doesn't run normally is if i decided to put the computer to sleep which eventually shuts down and i jump it to turn it on again. It returns back to desktop skipping the whole bios screen and stuff but computer lags to the point where its unusable, until i reset it that is. Restarting the computer is fine, putting it into sleep mode is not. Shutting down...well it just shuts down and doesnt turn back on normally until i do the paper clip jump.

Maybe its time for my baby to go. It has served me well all these years lol. Ill probably use it till it full refuses to turn on anymore i guess.

Upgrade to 1150 maybe with the Devils Cannon i7 maybe
Can i use the DDR3 2 sets of 3 from the 1366 triple channel on a 1150 in dual channel? I should be able to right?

Yeah most likely something on the board being faulty and unfortunately i have no warranty on it anymore. Its kinda old maybe 6 years around. Well it served me well all these years so not even mad. Id probably keep using it the way i am now until it breaks down i guess. Thanks
