My computers internet keeps randomly shutting on and back on again.

My computers internet keeps randomly shutting on and back on again. It lasts for a few seconds usually. My ISP is fine, no virus, rootkits or malware that I can tell and a fresh ethernet cord, please help me. Im at my wits end.

Could be the router. Update its firmware

it could be the nic card in your ssytem specialy if she is a onboard one you could buy a pci-e one for test .

Or untick the first option under the power management tab, for the NIC in device manager. Sometimes this helps

More elaborate information, I connect directly to the modem and the modem is also fine and fully updated from what I can tell. I checked inside and the card seems to be fine. Not burned out etc. The more I troubleshoot, the more I think it really is the card itself or some internal settings that I am unaware of.

one thing you could do is to uninstall the nic card and then reinstall her back and redo your network with fresh settings to see how it goes .
