My Comuter is not responding

I have a laptop with dual core processor and 4GB ram with windows 7 sometimes when I open my computer the icons in the window(disk drives, dvd rw) are not been shown. Then when I wait for those icons(disk drives, dvd rw) My computer is not responding

Please help

Do you mean the Icon or the Actual directory itself?

If it's the icon isn't showing it's probably your computer being slow.

If it's the directories something may not be set up correctly or may perhaps be corrupt.
