My comuter is slow suddenly

Just yesterday, my computer (a laptop) was running just fine with games, internet browsers, or whatever else. Now, though, it is very laggy in doing anything. It is extremely laggy with just one browser window opened.

Even with internet explorer open and CivilizationV running, task manager says my CPU usage is at 15%, RAM is about 40-50% and disk is usually around 2-10%. I don't see any reason for it to be acting like this. Any help would be appreciated.

Could be a virus. Start with malwarebytes and see if anything shows up.

ccleaner is another good cleaner to run.
Stop using IE and switch to chrome or firefox. They are both more secure.

see if can get into the bios in health or hardware monitor to see what the cpu temp is running at because if running hot it will slow the cpu down.

What has changed?

Most likely, you have a cooling problem. Run a temperature app like realtemp.
