My Corsair H60 water cooling fan is wet !?

I bought a Corsair H60 water cooling fan / heatsink.

When I unboxed it, I noticed that it is slightly wet.
The liquid seems to be a kind of thin transparent oil.

As I am new to this, I first thought it might be something to do with the pre-applied thermal paste... but I noticed that this material is 'presumably' the dry material pasted onto the head of the device in a perfect rectangular shape.

Please can anyone tell me, has my cooling system got a leak?
... I need to know so as not to install it and send it back.

Just take a piece of paper towel and tape it around where the fittings are, so 2 on the top where the rad is, and then two where the block is. Then start bending the tubes and shaking it. If you don't see any leaks just take the rad and put it on the top of a box and then put the block on the bottom and just run it off the sata power connector for a full 24 hours and look for any leaks. Just come back every 30-45mins and look for any leaks, when you go to bed leave the pump running and don't check it until you get up in the morning unless you wake up in the middle of the night for something.

Also try to keep the power cables away from the pump if you can in case it leaks

When you say "rad", are you referring to the Radiator - the part which screws on to the fan?

Rad = radiator = the giant metal part that air flows through to cool the liquid

Yeah The radiator you will just place on a box above the pump/block, you won't be cooling anything while you're running the tests, so you don't even need the fan mounted on the rad. Just make sure you have it placed away from your system. You might also hear a kind of a whoosh noise the first couple times that you turn it on, this in normal for the first 2 or 3 times that you turn on the cooler, the pump is just getting the air out of the loop. If everything comes back okay you can install the cooler into your system.
