https://media.discordapp.net/attach...960202965032/unknown.png?width=592&height=471 this is a link of my pc specs and temps via "speccy". feel like when gaming it doesnt run as good as it used to. its a prebuild pc and i dont know much about it other than the main specs. i think it just need a real good cleaning as i smoke in the room i game in , im kind of hopeing that a can of compressed air and a good cleaning is all i need but im even nervous on how to go about doing that, and then i read up a bit and i see alot of people talking about thermal paste? should i maybe take the pc into a repair shop to have them clean it for me? any advice on the subjet i thank you for!

You can take the side of the case off and take a picture of the cooler if you wish.

It won't break , it will shutdown when it thermal throttle but you don't need to keep it on for now until you get it fixed since it will instantly crash when it reaches the max temp. The cooler should be over the cpu socket on your motherbaord, it should be big and obvious. Take a picture if possible that would make it easier to tell you what to do.

well dust for sure can be an issue but not to the degree it reaches 97c. Look at the screenshot down here. Remove the screws and check if if there is any thermal paste there. If not then I recommend to get some and apply it. But either way put it back and make sure you tighten the screws enough so it makes contact with the CPU. Do you mind also to show us your fan rpm speeds ?

Your front fan is not even running and cleaning the dust out could help a lot don't forget to clean the rad on the cooler.

u need to add another front intake fan... and that cooler needs to be looked at... u wud need to reapply and reseat the cooler... because 97 degrees when gaming is too much... if u overclocked the cpu... u shud reset the bios and then check the temps again...
And ps first clean the radiator fins with compressed air...

If you look at the front of the case it's completely clogged with dust and the front fan is not even spinning.

I think a good cleaning and getting the front fan working might do it but never can tell with a Ibuypower PC.

yea, thats a crazy dusty pc... in the second pic the fins are completely clogged with dust... either the front fan is not hooked up or its dead... either way he shud clean the pc first before even troubleshooting...

Yes you can do it on your own and apply thermal paste. Regarding the fan, is it broken ? or the fan headers are not connected to the motherboard correctly ?

Your PC is not old enough to need new thermal paste. Clean the front panel and the radiator of all the dust that has built up and get the front fan running or replace it.

Do you not see the front of the case is clogged up and the intake fan is not even running?

its not that tough, but if u are nervous about disassembling the pc, then u shud take it to a repair shop...
for the cooler, first locate the pump header on the motherboard and then remove that wire...
then locate the screws on the cooler, then disassemble the cooler...
remove the screws on the exhaust fan and also the fan header and then take out the cooler...
use clean alcohol wipes, clean the thermal paste on both the cpu and the cooler...
then take a microfiber cloth and clean the insides of the cabinet properly...
clean the radiator fins using compressed air, or just blow into the fins hard and it will be good... then take out the front fan, and test it if its ok or not...
also while reseating evrything, dont forcefully overtighten the cooler screw... just make sure its seated properly...
Personally, i prefer the coolermaster mastergel maker as thermal paste... apply a pea sized amount...
