My CPU dilemma

Hello fellow posters,

I recently ran into a dilemma that seems mind boggling as to what i should do so i'm asking for quick opinions and which sounds the most promising i believe I will follow.

THE DILEMMA:
I currently built this setup but is now outside the return date,

AMD PHENOM II X4 955
GIGABYTE GA-MA785GMT-UD2H
ATI SAPPHIRE 4890 VAPOUR-X 1GB
700WATT PSU
PATRIOT 1600 DDR3 4GBkit
MINI P180 CASE

lovely little setup for gaming i think. and to top it off 2months into having this machine I won an I7-860.

Now I started to ponder, should i build a new system, but take forever to do so.
Should I sell my current system and build a system in days after it being sold.
Just buy a motherboard and slowly build back an AMD sys or sell everything and just make a x58 system.

PS i'm usually a budget system builder hence why i went for the AMD build in the first place..

and then add a 5870

Well grats on winning the i7 860/ You could always sell off your motherboard/cpu and just buy a new motherboard to go with the i7 860 and reuse the rest of the parts you have.

+1 Selling your current AMD motherboard and CPU for a new Intel motherboard.
Everything else you have should work fine with the new build.

+1 also sell the amd motherboard and processor use that i7 you will be happier that way

Sell your i7 860 for about $300 and buying a second 4890 for $200.
Or sell your i7 for about $300 and sell your 4890 for about $200 and buy a 5870.

For your gaming needs it would be more worth it. However, it might be easier to sell a system then those individual components.

Sweet.. I'll be getting a new MoBo then thank you all for your posts.
so now for part 2, i was thinking Asus Formula GENE III 1156 RoG or the Gigabyte P55M-UD4P, the reason for these choices are because my Case is a Mini P180 and it only supports that form factor...

HMMM that is a hard one, as both are great motherboards and the features are about the same. This may be an instance where you just go with the cheaper one, though I will say I really like what gigabyte has done with their mobos now.
