long story or short-

my uncle built this comp back in december 2013 for gaming but he only used it like once. since my old computer died he gave his gaming computer to me. after the first 3 months of using it, the power supply died and i thought it just overheated due to dust. so i cleaned the dust from the CPU fan and that didnt solve the problem. i gave it back to my uncle and had him take a look but all he did was replace the power supply with a lower watts one. every since i got it back last month i noticed the CPU fan being louder than usual upon start-up. so i took it off and cleaned it using q-tips and tissues(hehe). but it seems that the more i clean it the louder it gets.

i want to play games but im so scared that somethings gonna happen and cause my PC to die out again. opening chrome already makes alot of noise

Solution

That is fine. Look at Package Temperature. That is fine. Now, run this for about 5 minutes and take a screenshot: http://www.mersenne.org/download/

The more you clean it, the faster it can spin, so the louder the fan. If your CPU temps are fine, you are fine.

well idk about temp since i dont have an AC in my room. and according to weather channel dot com, its 82-84 degrees right nao.

@jack
the heatsink is attached to the fan. idk how to take them both off.

idk how to read this. is this good?

ill do it next time i boot up. and doesnt the CPUID show the temps already?

i read somewhere on this site that if u screw the heatsink and fan back on top of the CPU too tightly something like this would happen. but when i loosened the screws a little it got louder

It shows current temps. The freezing has nothing to do with the heatsink being screwed in too tightly. And yes, I think you are right, but that means better performance 😉

i meant the noise might be caused because i screwed it in too tightly lol. well anyways ill prob get a new fan sometime in the future.. or ask my uncle and have him take a look the next time he comes over.

I found that the fan on the 8350 goes faster if it has more pressure on it. I ghetto rigged my old 8320 (same heatsink) socket with the fan, and if you push on it, it runs faster. It makes it perform much better.

No, literal pressure on the fan. Like pushing on it, and if it is seated tightly, it will push on the fan. Nothing to worry about :)
