My cpu fan is slightly too small for my mobo

After finally getting all my parts I've started to build a new pc for myself. All was well up until I tried to put on my fan. It's literally a milimeter too short for the push pins to reach all the holes.

I have tried again and again for the last hour to get it to fit but I just can't. I'd rather not wait another 1-2 weeks for a new fan so is there any homemade way I could get the fan to stay in place?

Chances are you're not going to get a jerry rigged method to sit with enough pressure. Is there nowhere you can run out and grab something? And is this the stock cooler? What are your PC spec's?

What motherboard? What cpu? What cpu fan model?

My mobo is an Msi z270a Pro and then fan AVC Socket-775 LGA775 CPU Cooler.

Honestly after messing with this for the last couple hours I've given up hope of getting it in there without a Jerry rig method. If you know of any coolers that actually got in this mobo I'd love to know.
