Hey there, I'm just wondering if it is worth upgrading this CPU, or indeed if it is needed to play the latest games.
I have people saying that its great with an overclock (once i get my new cooler) and will do everything a gamer could want, but then i have in the other ear telling me to get an Intel CPU, because they're so much better and faster and its so noticeable, but they sound suspiciously like fanboys. Any opinions on this for me?

(looking to get a R9 290, don't know if bottlenecking will be an issue)

Thanks

Hi,
The FX 8320 is great CPU and there is absolutely no need to spend $350 on Intel CPU and Intel Motherboard. The R9 290 will run, great paired with the FX 8320, no bottlenecks there.
This is coming from an Intel user.

An overclocked 8320 is a good cpu. It will bottleneck a 290 though.

Just to be clear, you will get decent performance, depending on game though just not up to the level of an also overclocked i5/i7.
