My CPU (AMD FX 8350 - 8 core) is bottlenecking in games like GTA 5 and some MMO's. It randomly just drops from 60-70 fps to 15-20 fps. i have an AMD R9 390 GPU. So i am asking how do i fix this, i didn't change any settings from both my cpu and gpu i don't know what is causing it if some one could help me would be appreciated

I have not overclocked my cpu it is all on factory settings
my game settings are on verry high (GTA 5)

my motherboard: Asrock 970 pro3 r2.0
my PSU: Corsair CX Series Modular CX750M
my cooler: standard cooler that came with the CPU

my parts are all installed yesterday so i just did some testing
i am also sure it isn't getting to hot because it stays at around 50°C

i don't know if i can post links or images but here is a link to Imgur to my MSI afterburner: http://imgur.com/TVZ8BB9

i was thinking of buying a new motherboard anyway would this one be suitable: MSI 970 Gaming

Solution
That motherboard is not suitable for running a FX8350. It's power delivery and Voltage regulators heat up very easily in intense use. What do your motherboard temperatures look like?

Here are your issues.

The FX8350 is very 'wide'. but it is not especially 'deep'. In games that use one or two modules very heavily the CPU will prove to be a limit.
Your motherboard could be better and in intense action may overheat and limit the power delivered to your CPU.
On the stock cooler, your CPU may overheat too.
Your GPU may also be overheating.

There's lots of mays and might here. You need to download some monitoring software and use the monitoring tools that come with your system to check what is going on. MSI's Afterburner will tell us...
Are you sure the problem is that your CPU is saturated? Could it be thermal throttling of the CPU or motherboard?

What is your motherboard?
What is your PSU?
What is your CPU cooler?
Have you overclocked your CPU, and if so, what frequency and Vcore.

There are some games, and GTA V is one of them, the can struggle on any CPU.

What is are your game settings and circumstances, especially population and sight distance.
