Good evening everyone! I’ve recently ran into an issue this week and don’t know how to resolve it. I haven’t used my pc since last Thursday so today is Tuesday and I turn my pc on and my cpu temp goes to 98 and the fan is on full speed not to mention the pc isn’t running any task. So I don’t know what is causing it to get so hot.

Solution
Is your CPU cooler a closed loop liquid cooler? If so, then there is the possibility that the pump has failed and its no longer actually cooling your CPU.
Yes, that is what respasting is, and it is probably the first thing a tech is going to try. If your fan is ramping up to full speed at startup with no changes to the cpu temps, then it is usually an issue with poor contact between the cpu and the heatsink. You can buy lots of good paste for pretty cheap now, but if you aren't comfortable then I would recommend taking it in to a local tech.
