hello. my cpu is running at 100c temp but i don't experience any of the effects that i read about. im not sure what is happening please help.

my comuter: Lenovo ideacentre y700

intel core i7 7700 not k

gtx 1070

16 gb DDR4

I don't know exactly what you read about.
You might not encounter any issues at the moment but your CPU running at 100°C will shorten the life span of it and the motherboard.
Also your CPU will not run at top speed if it is overheating.

What program are you using to determine temperature? Your CPU would go into protective shutdown at that high a temp. I think it is either a faulty sensor or the program is reporting a wrong temp.

CPU cooler? Case? How many fans? Ambient temperature?

msi afterburner. 2 fans dont know the CPU cooler lenovo ideacentre y700 is the computer i can't find the name of the case

Are you using the Intel stock cooler or you found that CPU cooler somewhere?
It does not have any branding on it?

It could happen that the heatsink might have come loose while transporting it.
I don't know if you are comfortable enough to remove it and re-seat it.
