MY CPU IS THERMAL THROTTLING... at 50C?

Hi,

I have a hyper 212 cooling my AMD FX600 at its stock 3.5GHz. It avrages at around 30C. When I'm gaming however it reaches around 50C..... then THERMAL THROTTLES its self until it goes back to around 30C then is back to normal... until it reaches 50C again then so on and so on!

Any idea why it is doing this? Its really annoying when I'm gaming. It should not be throttling at only 50C am I right?? I don't know what's going on and its preventing me from gaming.

Thanks a lot,
Laurie :)

Hello, first you are right in that CPU throttling should not occur till about 80-90C by default, now I do have mine set lower as that is a little beyond necessary for my liking. That CoolerMaster Hyper 212 should be more than enough to keep that CPU cool under load (I have the same CPU). It is really simple to go into your BIOS and change the default max temp. Just search the internet for your specific board. Feel free to reply with more information if this doesn't solve your problem!

Its not thermal throttling i think. It has to be something else on your system. Do you usually crank the details to max on each game or you're being conservative, since you know the specs of your hardware.

(btw, sorry for not replying earlier, got tangled with some projects)

I also had the same CPU like yours, and my temps are like this, after playing The Witcher 3 and GTA V at max details.
Heres my temps of my cores,CPU,and the gpu.

I saw the clock speeds of your CPU is 3.5/4.7?
I guess the problem must've been the mobo, if you overclock on that 780 chipset, and that mobo particularly has a weak power phase VRM, leading to throttling.
