My CPU is underperforming

So I've had some issues with my CPU in the past which I mostly solved. Now, because I felt like my CPU is better than it performs, I made a benchmark on www.userbenchmark.com and it turns out that my CPU (i5-7600K) is "performing way below expectations". The average performance benchmark is 93%, mine was 57.7%
I built my PC with the same CPU in May 2017. Is it common that this CPU doesn't age well? Or could it be a problem with the fan or some settings?
Should I buy a new CPU?

Solution
You are comparing against other 7600K processors which mostly will have been overclocked.
How well you can oc will be determined by your luck in getting a good chip.
As of 6/19/17
What percent of samples can get an overclock
at a vcore around 1.4v.
I5-7600K
4.9 72%
5.0 52%
5.1 27%
5.2 16%
5.3 samples exist, unknown % of occurrence
