my cpu keeps getting stuck at 2.50 ghz while gaming

My processor(i5 7200u) can go up to 3.1 GHz but it just keep getting locked at 2.5 while playing games and doesn't want to go above more than 2.5 it gives me like big fps drops.But when i am not playing any games it can go up to like 3.09 GHz.Can somebody help me?Thanks.Or is it supposed to happen.

Most likely it's either getting too warm to keep that sorry gaming, or it'll only go to that speed in lightly threaded tasks

can i increase the speed,or a solve to this?And its not actually that warm

Monitor your cpu temps while gaming. Also your laptop manufacturer can basically pick a specific tdp profile which will limit it to certain speed either above or below it's "Normal" listed specs. Depending on cooling
