My CPU runs too slow!

Alright, today I got myself a new friend --- Pentium Dual-Core E5300!
Without any thoughts, I put this sucker into my motherboard!
I had to reboot my PC coupla times, but what I ended up with...is pure sadness!

It runs at 1.2 GHz, when it should burn tires at 2.6 GHz! Woo!
I couldn't seem to find anything "OC-esque" in my BIOS, so it's not my fault!

So I decided to pull it out...right here!
Any help or "tips" are greatly appreciated!

I didn't put more because it's completely unneccesary!
The only such issue I had is with this processor!
M-board: Intel DG9650T (latest-ey BIOS)
I'm not sure what kind of specs you expect...it is infact, pretty generic!

Your CPU is fine you are just not using anything that would cause it to bump to higher multiplier run cpu-z and open bunch tabs in chrome or something it should bump up to 2.6

When idle or not doing much, the processor should be running at a lower speed than the 2.6 Ghz it is advertised as in order to save energy.

Just to make sure we've covered all bases, have you tried taking a look at the frequency while running a stressful program or benchmark?

Impossibru, back in those days any mobo, no matter how cheap, had settings for FSB and multiplier you have to set those two correctly to get normal speed.
Should be fsb 100 and multi 26 (or 200 and 13 now that I saw your pic)

Well, I didn't helped...same 1198Mhz, multiple Chrome tabs, checking my SpeedFan (also CPU die temp is 0C, nice)

I understand your confusion, but it might be that I found a motherboard w/o much OC in very REAL sense...and this processor 🙁

could be the same problem i had with my i7 . the motherboard had the error of not boosting the cpu out of powersaving mode when needed like the motherboard is ment to do . so try to sett the motherboard overckloking to performance in bios and see if thet fixes it . worked for me . so now im wating for a new motherboard. tryed to find the answer for like half a yare couse its not an normal error thet could be found with any tests 😀

Also my bad...I didn't put the right number of cores (it should be auto)
...so dont be confused!

Yeah, something is definitely off. I looked up the result someone had for your CPU @ 3Ghz and they completed wprime in about 30 seconds, and with yours taking 80 seconds it can't be something as simple as the motherboard misreporting the speed or something like that. Have you tried resetting the bios to default settings? I'm not sure it would work, but it's worth a shot.

I see in your last screenshot you're running an E5700, does that one not have the speed issue?

It's prolly worth mentioning...but now, I have the same issue with every processor!
I hate the idea to rip my [strike]arse[/strike] wallet to buy a quick-n-dirty replacement!
