Question My CPU temperature keeps jumping.

Hi, so i just installed a new FX 8350, and whenever i watch a youtube video/play something, within an hour my PC would stutter, and/or shutdown.
my CPU temperature keeps jumping between 50-60, but its max temp says its hitting crazy numbers (225C)!
could it be a thermal paste/ heatsink issue? the wraith cooler i got with it doesnt fit with the way my motherboard is laid out, might have to swap motherboards.
specs are:
500 watt PSU
GPU: AMD R9 380
CPU: AMD FX 8350
motherboard: M3970AM-HP (Angelica2)

Well obviously the cpu is not reaching 225C(it would die long before that)
Sounds to me like a bad motherboard or maybe a bad cpu
But you can try reinstall the cooler see if it helps

It may even be a that the mobo needs a bios update a lot of the older pc's needed a bios update as the sensor would read it on high temps.

im not sure where i could find a BIOS update for this board.
one place says its a gigabyte 2AC8 board, the other says its a M3970AM-HP (Angelica2)
thinking about just getting a new CPU, motherboard, and ram all together.
any places/software i could use to make sure all my new parts would fit with my GPU/drives/etc.?
