My CPU will bottleneck the GTX 970?

Solution
The gtx 970 might be that bit powerful for the 870 so at the end the 870 will bottelneck the system... But it should`nt be that bad anyway man, go ahead... Never say no to a 970!

i misinformed
from what i see people pair the fx 6300 and do bottle neck in some games but it depends on what games you will be playing

The thing is for you a cpu upgrade means also an motherboard upgrade and that is going to get a bit expensive, but if that`s not a problem and your going for gaming only then a good Z97 chipset mobo and a corresponding cpu will be 100% fine, a 4690/K will be nice!

Or if you really need the hyper treading then the same chipset but maybe a 4790/K will be great!! I run a 2500K and I know I will never have a bottleneck issue even with a 980... It`s just the 1st gen I cores that is a bit behind at the moment...

you would need an entire platform upgrade. (i5-4460 + H97 motherboard + 2x4GB DDR3-1600) would be the very least i would go with. but if you're on a tight budget, i would suggest waiting and saving up for a really good upgrade like a i5-4690K or i7-4790K (or a better cpu if it's available at the time of upgrade)

The 4690K is an overclocking cpu and the H97 is not a OC board so it would be unwise to pair the 2... If you dont want to overclock then change the cpu to a 4690(non-k), if you want to OC then change the mobo to a Z97 chipset...
