My Dell 0xn967 usb won't fit anymore

I have a dell mouse that I ordered 4 years ago and it was working pretty fine and now the usb port won't fit. how can i make it fit again it still works but it won't fit even though im plugging it in correctly. i accidently could've broke it.

Did you break, bend, or otherwise deform the USB male plug on the end of the mouse or do you mean the target/destination USB female port on your computer?

Appears to be the latter based " it still works but it won't fit". Which means the mouse worked when plugged into another computer.

Please clarify. Thanks.

i think i bend it by accident i connected to another computer and it worked and I accidentally bend it and it won't fit. its because i shuffed it in too fast and it bended the port on the mouse.

You can try reshaping the plug on the mouse. Compare the shape to another undamaged plug.

Just be gentle and try not to scratch the metal or do more damage.

When the shape seems correct plug it in and see if your efforts were successful.

There is some risk because if there are any internally broken wires or shorts within the plug then the PC could crash when the mouse is plugged in.

You can also try a F-M USB adapter or a short USB extension cable. Work to get the mouse plug into to the female end of the adapter/extension cable and then use the undamaged male adapter/extension cable plug end to go into the PC. Secure the original mouse plug into the adapter/extension cable end by wrapping with a turn or two of electrical tape. Not too much tape as you may need to undo it someday.

Mostly a matter of how much effort you wish to make.

yeah i will try that and how can i do that so that i won't damage the mouse.

Working on, reshaping the plug end will not hurt the mouse per se.

It is the chance that you create some electrical short that subsequently damages the mouse or host port/computer even.

Use plastic "tools" as much as possible.

A small plastic knife to wedge in and reshape bent metal. Maybe small flat end tweezers.

Remember there may already be some problem within the plug itself - damage you cannor see or repair.

Overall a small risk I think but you do need to be aware of that risk.
