So back in November I got my motherboard on my Dell Inspiron 15 5559 replaced and after having done so I tried putting the two 8GB RAM sticks back in and strangely my laptop doesn't boot to the DELL logo and instead the LED on my laptop flashed orange 3 times and white 2 times, after having figured out what this meant (RAM Compatibility Issue) I tried dislodging one of the RAM sticks and putting them on the other slots, after a bit of experimentation here and there and I found out that only when one of the RAM sticks are inserted, only then does it boot to the DELL Logo. I looked this up online and I was told to buy an identical model from the one I was using instead, I tried it and after I got the new 8GB RAM I stuck it in and hoped for the best, unfortunately, I still flashed the same light pattern as last time, I read a solution wherein I remove the CMOS battery for a bit and put it back in, I tried it and it didn't work and then i read that the computer needs time to read the new RAM, I tried leaving it beeping away for a few hours, after I came back it's still the same. As a last resort, my brother told me to clean the gold edges of the RAM using an eraser and a toothbrush, I tried and it still didn't work.

I'm running out of options at this point, I'm thinking this has something to do with the compatibility issue or a BIOS driver I failed to install but what do you guys think?

You mention having two almost identical sticks of ram. What is the difference between the two? Did you verify that the BIOS for the motherboard was flashed to the latest version? The issue you've mentioned above, usually is an indication that the BIOS is the problem or the ram or both(incompatibility).

About the two almost identical sticks of RAM, the factors I considered when buying the other stick was the A.) Brand name and B.) The DDR type I'm sure there were other factors that I took account that I just forgot but for the most part those 2 were the things I focused on, I tried buying an identical one because I figured it'd work the way it did on the other stick but apparently it didn't and I don't know the reason why

I've already checked if my BIOS was updated to the latest version and I'm sure I did update it a while back to the latest version. Currently my BIOS is on version 1.9.0 which I had to upgrade after I had replaced my motherboard
