My dell laptop cd/dvddrive wont recognize cd

i have put a cd with all of my family pictures in my laptop and it makes the noises like it knows its in there but doesn't prompt for me to look at them, I was on the phone with dell support but got hung up on so I have been trying to figure out by myself on how to fix it and am stumped. please help me....

it most likely has gone bad. Get one cheap off of ebay. Search for your make and model laptop/dvd drive. Should be about $20.00.

its about 3 months old, could it just be a bad part or something? im not the best with computers just basic stuff...

For three months old - confirm that it is not a problem with the CD itself, and contact Dell for replacement drive.
