Hi,

Using Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool, I create bootable USB from latest Windows 10 Pro Fall Creators update.

While trying to boot from USB, nothing happening from USB.

I also change the boot order in BIOS too.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Solution
One more thing. Tap F12 at Dell screen as you normally would to access 'Boot Device menu'. Highlight 'Onboard or USB CD-ROM Drive' , then tap enter. Now the system will look for a USB device first.

Hi,

Still I am unable to boot from USB.

It can boot from any laptop. But not in Dell Workstation.

Thanks.

Hi,

From 1 year ago, Dell T5500 Workstation upgraded to A10 to A16 BIOS update.

I was able to boot from USB from previous days and Install Windows 10 Pro.

But now I am unable to boot from USB.

Thanks.

Do you at least see the USB drive listed in the F12 boot menu?

Also, there may be a conflict if you have other USB devices attached at the time you're preforming this. For example, if you have an external USB HDD attached (like a WD MyBook for example) for backups, it might be attempting to boot from that, and it wont for obvious reasons.

Hi,

Yes, after pressing F12, Boot Devices Menu showing below things:

* Onboard or USB CD-ROM Drive
* Hitachi HDS721025CLA382
* USB Device

* System Setup
* Diganostics

While putting only installation USB media before power on workstation, and after some time above boot menu shows
So, i choose USB Device for usb booting.

But unfortunately, it is not booting from usb pen drive.

I do not have a external USB HDD right now.

Thanks.

If this is a USB 3.0 thumbdrive, try using a USB 2.0 version.

For clarification, did you already create the boot media using the Microsoft link I provided? Though just FYI, that will update to the current Windows 10 build (April 2018), no longer the Fall version.

Hi,

I have tried with usb 2.0 (2 pen drive ( hp, scandisk) too.

Yes, I have followed same steps too. But still no fortune.

Thanks.

Well, from the specs, your PC doesn't support UEFI boot, only Legacy (BIOS). However, it should still be able to detect the USB drive as bootable media. I've installed Windows 10 from flashdrive on Dell OptiPlex and Latitudes countless times. The POST UI from Dell is pretty uniform (with some changes in available options) across their entire computer lineup. So to be honest, I'm not sure why you're having an issue.

I'm guessing you've already tried USB ports on the back as well as the front of the case?

Hi,

Yes, I tried it back there too.

Hello. I run Win10 in Dell T5500.

To cover the obvious ... go into BIOS > System Configuration > USB controller, ensure "enabled" is checked.

Double check on other system that your USB key can be read. If so try wiping the key then re-configuring the drive with boot image again.
