Well I was online earlier today and playing Runescape, when suddenly my hard wired desktop's network frozen up and disconnected. This isn't normal for my computer so I reboot and when it came back up I noticed my computer was in a loop of identifying the network and then saying there is no network connection. After that I have tried tried two Ethernet cables on the desktop and neither of those worked. So that got me curious if the cables were bad. I tried the cables on my laptop which both worked perfectly.

Other things I have tried:

Powered down the PC with the power cable disconnected and the switch off for 20 mins.
I have looked at the adapter settings and from what I can tell everything as it should be. I have looked on the router and it recognizes both my laptop and my PS4 that I have hard wired into the router as well.

It is a Windows 7 desktop and is about 5 years old. Mostly use it for a few different games and random things on the internet like Facebook and Youtube at times.

I am kind of at a loss and would greatly appreciate any guidance anyone is willing to give.

Thank you in advance!

I just reloaded the drivers and still is having the same issue. I have also tried to release and renew in command prompt, but it comes up with an error stating the following "An error has occurred while releasing interface Local Area Connection : An address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint." I am not sure what that means either.

Update: I put in a new LAN card yesterday and the Internet was working for not even a full 24 hours and the computer is back to where it started.

I reloaded the drivers for both ports on my pc and I verified the cable was still good by double checking it in on my laptop. I am also receiving WiFi through my router. So I am at a loss for what is going on.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks again in advance
