I use my desktop for gaming usually but today I turned it on after being gone all weekend. I normally turn it off only if I'm going to be gone for more than a day or two otherwise it is left on almost constantly. Today started up fine, was just watching youtube videos then there was a POP and sparks. I instantly unplugged it.. let it sit for a while then tried turning it back on. No go. It wont even attempt anything so kinda has me worried a bit as to what may have caused it and how much a repair will be. I store it a cold room try to keep it as dry as possible. I clean it often (hardware), including files and software, i defrag and get rid of garbage files almost daily. Any ideas let me know. Hopefully its just my power supply.

Solution
Hello... I would take a close look at your Mb... Capacitors can change shape/buldge and go bad on them... Can your Nose detect a foul Smell coming from any certain component/Card, then remove/replace it.... if everything looks/smells good I would try another Power Supply then.

You can always do the paper clip test.
Remove 24pin from motherboard, go ahead and remove power from hard drives just as extra precaution, and use a paperclip to jump/short the green wire to any of the black wires on the 24pin harness.
If the PSU powers on then it is likely the board.
If it does not power on then the PSU is definitely bad
