My Desktop is APPEARING AS A FOLDER? (Windows 8.1)

So, for the past week, my desktop has been glitchy with any icons, folders, or really any object on it. Instead of appearing as the normal desktop, it shows things lined up like a folder, and it also shows these annoying lines as if it was in File Explorer. It doesn't affect much performance, but it's really annoying. Please help?
