I have an Nvidia GTX 660 video card, and I've been trying to connect it to my monitor. I've tried HDMI through the card, through the motherboard, VGA, DVI to VGA, none of it so far it working. When I try the HDMI through the card, it says "Unsupported Mode", when I do it through the MoBo, it simply says "No Signal". And it just says no signal when I use the other two connection. Yes, I've change them to the proper TV settings (HDMI, VGA/Computer). And I really only want to use HDMI. And unlike a lot of other threads that I see, no, I have no other TV/Monitor to try out, so I can't mess with the settings. And the TV has no resolution settings, and I know the cable works... So what's the problem? I really need answers fast!

No, (I wouldn't know how) but I think we found the problem. My monitor, that turns out is actually a TV, is pretty old, and supports an "older version of HDMI", and my video card supports a newer. Now, I don't know if that's true or not, but I would guess it'd be kinda like USB ports, and how USB 3.0 ports aren't always backwards compatible. Would you be able to confirm or deny this statement?
