My difficulty slider wont change difficulty.

I was wondering if there is a way to change the difficulty setting in
the NWN directory. It seems to be stuck in the game itself. Im in HotU
at the beholders and i was messing with the difficulty slider, well
now even when i put it back to normal my henchmen (the drow woman) is
casting her area of effect spells and they are hirting me. And they
shouldnt be at the normal setting.

My nwnplayer.inifile has a line that says "Difficulty Level=3" under the "
[Game Options]" section, that might be it (I'm playing on hardcore, Don't
know what the other settings wuold be numbered).

Ok does anyone know for sure then whether in the HotU campaign the
monsters are supposed to be able to get critical hits on the players
in the NORMAL difficulty setting. This is where im having the problem.
It is making the game very hard for a normal dificulty when they are
getting such big hits on me. I checked the difficulty setting in the
(nwnplayer.inifile) but im not sure what it should be set at for
(normal) difficulty.

Any help with this setting problem would be great.
