My display disconnects for a second then reconnects.

It happens randomly when I am watching a movie, gaming or even when I away from the computer.

I can't figure out what is causing this. It is a minor annoyance but still I checked the cords and they were all plugged in firmly.

I have two g-sync 144hz monitors 1 of them is normally shut off.

My computer has a gtx 980, 8gb ddr3 ram, i7 4770k water cooled, 1000 psu, everything is ventilated. So what gives?

in windows power settings make sure your video and pci slots are not turning off also make sure in the video control panel the gpu set to max performance so it not trying to put the video card in to sleep mode.
