Question My display has reverted to 120hz?

My display has reverted to 120hz after a black screen from 144hz @1440p with no option for 144hz anymore

My 144hz display that ive had no problems with for over a year now suddenly went black, my gpu (2070) turned off (no light on card), and i had a black screen. I rebooted and now the best hz i can get is 120hz, there is no option for 144hz in either the windows settings option or the nvidia option any more, any ideas guys plz, (im at @1440p using the display port with a 144hz rated cable) thx in advance.

Have you tried removing & reinstalling the driver for the GPU?

Hi barty, ive removed and reinstalled the gpu driver its still only giving me the 120hz option as a max rate, im a little stumped, am going to try a new display port cable, will report back, thx for your help

hi guys i've tried a brand new display port cable and still no 144hz option, i tried to create a custom res using 144hz in the nvidia software and when i tested it it black screened and hung, had to restart. Is it possible that the latest nvidia drivers for my 2070 are bugged, had an update to the drivers 3-4 days ago, i'm really at a loss as to what the problem is as my system has been running at 1440p 144hz for over a year now with no problems at all.
