Hello,

I plan to build a system which i already had in mind but as for my monitor i was wondering should I use HDMI or DisplayPort? My monitor has both displayport and hdmi and I personally excluded built-in speakers as i don't need them. As many would guess i am a gamer and I would want of the highest frames possible.

-Thanks

For the maximum FPS then you want Displayport. Per Asus specifications the HDMI port only supports up to 60Hz refresh rate while the DP port supports up to 144Hz normal and 180Hz overclocked. That means the DP port is capable of showing up to 180FPS while the HDMI will max out at 60FPS.
