Hello , i'm having this issue with my pc , it already happened 2 times. What happens is that i'm either gaming or just surfing the web and suddenly my display turns off , as it would do after 10 minutes of inactivity but instead i try to press any key or move the mouse and the pc doesn't respond anymore and it stays dead but it doesn't reboot. I've explored the windows minidump folder and found two mini dump files which is weird because in system properties i have ticked the option "reboot in system failure" and my system doesn't reboot it halts. As another piece of information , i've had an amd rig with an athlon II x3 455 before and with windows 7 and 8 i did have blue screen problems , but i can't see no sense to think the processor is the problem after i moved from amd to an intel i5 4690 processor. So i'm lost , i'm attaching here two pictures that may help . Thanks for any help

neither of those screenies tell me anything other then your system suffered a critical hardware failure. Can you please post your system information in detail?
CPU:
RAM:
MB:
GPU:
HARD DRIVE:
PSU:
as well as details such as whether you did a fresh install of windows when updating your system with that i5; did you get a new hard drive? is it a new system entirely? or did you just replace the motherboard/cpu?

I'd also like to know what you mean by your screen going black. Does your whole system power down? or is it still operational, just no image from the monitor? how do you know?

Thanks :)

CPU: i5 4690 3.50 GHZ
RAM: 2x 4 GB Kingston DDR3 1333 Mhz
MB: B85M-G (Socket 1150)
GPU : Amd Radeon HD 7850
HARD DRIVE : SeaGate 1 TB (ST310005 ST31000524AS SCSI Disk Device)
PSU: SENTEY Extreme Rock Power 750W - model 'ERP750-SS' ( I think Sentey is a brand from my country )
OP: Windows 7 Professional

I did a fresh format of my partition C: and a fresh win 7 pro install after updating the motherboard And cpu ( this is exactly what i updated ). The hard drive is the same SeaGate 1 tb. I just replaced mobo And cpu as mentioned.

Right , the system doesn't power or shut down , but it's left non operational with no image from the monitor and the red light flashes/blinks as if the monitor has just been turned off but no matter what i do i can't get back even trying to reconnect mouse and keyboard pressint ctrl + alt +del or anything , it stays dead and non responsive in a state that Looks exactly like when you leave your pc inactive for some minutes and windows turns off the display to save energy making the red power light flashing

The PSU i bought and been using it since a year and half exactly. It's a relatively good national brand i'm not sure if it could be already failing with just a year and half .

hmmm...

1) go to http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/B85MG/HelpDesk_Download/
-download every updated driver or bios update availible for your motherboard
-install the drivers
-install the bios update (if there is one available)
2) check windows updates for updated drivers for your system
3) uninstall your video card drivers and all AMD software, reboot your system, download the latest WHQL video card drivers from AMD and install

lets start with this. if this doesn't work we're going to have to test out your hardware a bit.

Thanks for the instructions ingtar.
I forgot to mention this issue only happened twice in a month so far.
So i'm still waiting to see if it happens again. I guess it's gonna be a time until it happens again so i'm gonna pick solution now :)
Thx !
