Hi there,

My problem is this. My profile under "D😀ocuments and Settings" will not open since placing it in my new case. I can open other profiles, but they were also not password protected on my old computer. The profile that won't open had to have a password entered to boot up from the profile setect screen as this is the administrative account. There are documents int here that I'd like to transfer over to the new hard drive (and new install of winxp). The error message I get when double clicking it in windows explorer is "Access denied.".

Can you guys help? Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance!

You need to take ownership with your administrator account. On properties, go to security. Click on advanced and you should see an owner tab. Make sure to "check" replace owner on subcontainers and objects...

On properties where? By right clicking the folder? If I right click the folder I see a properties option and when I click on it i don't see security. I'm on my admin account.

Actually, all the accounts had a password at the startup screen. Also 2 of the accounts on there had administrative rights. Oddly enough, one of them opens and the other does not. The old hard drive's original administrator account is the one that won't open (so says my girlfriend).
