I use Win 7
Msi r7850

Currently running a 1680x1050 monitor and found an old monitor so i wanted to try dual for the first time.
But for some reason the second monitor doesn't get recognized by win 7. Not in the control panel, nor in the gpu menu or in the manage devices page.

Its not the monitor or cable because i've tested both of the monitors using it one at a time and got no problems.

So currnetly the working monitor is connected to my gpu using vga to dvi adapter.

And the one that doesn't work is connected to my motherboard via vga.

I've tried to switch them around but it seems that whichever one is connected to the motherboard is the one not working.

pls help idk what to do. I could try to buy another vga>dvi adapter but shouldnt my setup be working by using only vga?

P.S my drivers are up to date, i have tried restarting, everything is plugged in.

Most likely your onboard video card is disabled since a dedicated card is installed. ou could either get another adapter but from what i can find the msi 7850s only have 1 dvi port capable of running an old vga monitor the other ports(hdmi, and display port) use digital signal only and would require an expensive converter for a vga signal. The other option s to se if you can enable to onboard and use both, however many boards won't allow this. For a more detailed answer I would need to know a bit more information about the system like make and model of the motherboard, and if the working monitor has a dvi, hdmi or displayport connection.

The motherboard im using is gigabyte B75m-D3H

My monitor is this one

It only supports DVI-D and VGA, does not support hdmi.

If I can't enable the onboard video, how could i go about getting it to work?

Edit: The monitor im trying to get the dual connectivity to work is this one
