My dvd-rom does not read cd

I have a notebook SONY VAIO (model: VGN-NR110E) with Windows Vista Home Premium (genuine). There is MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ870QJ ATA DEVICE. It was working perfectly but recently it does not read some CDs and do not burn CDs. But it is waorking perfectly with DVDs. How I can solve the problem?
