My dvd rw wont read discs keeps saying ECC Error and ID CRC ??

Hello,
I'm trying to burn DVDs onto a blank DVD disc though it wont recognise my DVDs and says ID CRC and ECC Error, ism using a Sony Vaio laptop with windows vista please can someone help
