I have found that since i started playing Call of Duty i have been plagued with problems using my i5-6400 and my GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 . So i thought that i would make a thread about what helped me that way when others look up what helps with these issues they will be able to find this thread.
First off if you are having major frame rate drops with a Nvidia graphics card try out there hotfix driver 353.58. Next if you are still having issues turn of subsurface scattering, ambient occlusion, and dynamic shadows, not only have i found that on my system these make little to no difference i have also found that they make the game extremely jittery and have many unplayable moments in the 20's and below (FPS). Next, make sure to turn off the in game v-sync if you are having issues where you know that you are good enough with a mouse to be making a lot of the shots that you are missing but you are missing them regardless. V-sync, in my case, increased the input lag to the point that i was unable to hit my target, after turning V-sync off i was again able to hit my target and have positive K/D's (now i know some may think that this is a placebo effect but in my case it worked and it may for you so give it a shot). This last one is a very common fix to get rid of screen tearing but try turning the maximum frame rate about 3 FPS lower than that of your monitor. If you are playing on a card that is capable of much higher FPS than your monitor and you absolutely need no screen tearing i found that the V-sync built into NVIDIA's driver in 3D application settings works much better with less input lag than the in-game V-sync but by far the best solution (input lag vs appearance) was to turn the max frame rate up to 240 and leave all of the V-sync's off.
I hope this helps whoever is looking for a solution to this problem!
There is nothing more frustrating than purchasing a game, waiting hours for it to download then have the game open and not run properly!
Best of luck!
