My external HDD has become a normal drive?

Hi, I recently used my external hdd to install linux because I couldn't find my USB drives. After installing, I formatted the drive and ran into some trouble with restoring it. Initially I used diskPart(.exe?) of windows 10, while it did format my drive and created a primary partition, it didn't asign a drive letter.

So, I went to disk manager and created a partition for it just like I would do on my hard disks. But now it acts like a normal hard disk instead of an external hdd.

This is just a minor inconvenience for me because now there is no eject option once I right-click on the drive in Windows. But it would be nice to restore that feature.

Edit: This became a major concern instead of a minor inconvenience because I don't think my Linux can detect/mount it.
