Question My external monitor for my laptop has input lag. HELP!

i have a legion y540 icore 5 rtx 2060 144hz and it had no noticeable input lag playing fps games



then i bought a benq zowie xl2411p 144 hz. When i connected my monitor and close my laptop lid, i can feel input lag, my monitor settings are optimal. if i have both open they both have input lag. when I play games like minecraft and non competitive games the input doesnt affect gameplay because i dont have to aim. my connection is mini display port to display port using a triple adapter. any help is needed plz or else my monitor was a waste of money sry for bad english ask any questions thanks.

What happens if you don't close the lid?

Right now, you don't know whether lag comes from the fact that you've closed the lid (very likely), or that an external display is connected (unlikely).

if both screens are open both screens will have input lag. Also do u know why closing the lid could cause input lag im, trying my best to get as much information as possible Also do u know if my mini display port to display port could cause any delay. The staff of the shop i bought it from didnt mention anything, so im not assuming that its a problem?
