[SOLVED] My father ( lloyd) has an older HP it keeps loosing connectiion to internet

It has an Intel Gigabit Card, the model is 82577LM. Hp's site give zero help. Jerks. I am unsure about the driver it says it is working but clearly it is not. I can install a newer card if necessary. Its just so frustrating when I come home every day and he is stuck and its not our damn ISP.

How is this PC connected to the Internet? Have you checked another Ethernet cable? ANother port on the router? Another device on the same Ethernet cable?

It's not uncommon for Ethernet ports to go wild, but it's rare. You can also get USB-to-Ethernet adapter, disable on-board LAN, and keep browsing.
