Built a simple rig, have a used GTX 1070 Founders card and a new Ryzen 2600

Can my 1070 run 1440?

Here is what I am looking at, is the extra money worth it to be "future proof?

AOC 1440

AOC 1080

The 1070 will run 1440. You may not be able to max out every game, but it will run.

If you're more into competitive fps and absolutely need the most fps, get the 1080. If you're fine with a little less fps and like more eye candy go 1440. I really like my 1440, and that's what I'd recommend. But I dont do anything competitive and would rather enjoy a better looking game.

Thanks. Lets say I had a card like a 1060 that was iffy pushing 1440, will it just do 1080 and be fine?\

So getting a 1440 would be good anyway for "future proofing"

This question is for my little brother really lol
