My first rig. Wasn't the simplest thing for me, but it was worth the trouble. I actually bent the gold pins on the CPU when I was trying to install it, but thank God a tooth pick and a steady hand fixed that problem and IT WORKED! So far everything runs really well on it. I ran Crysis 2 at the highest settings and it was smooth for the most part, if I had to guess it looked as though it was running at 30-40 er so fps, Skyrim ran like butter though, easily 55-60fps. Anything I should look out for? Any tips on my wiring?

For a first time build it looks lovely and tidy, well done :)

I also bent some cpu pins once on an old P4 and know the horror of having to straighten the pins, congrats on getting it fixed!

I'd suggest an SSD for the future, you won't believe the speed!

thank you plywrlw!

Hardware only, this build ran me close to $900. Had I waited and ONLY bought parts when they were on sale then I could've gotten it for $800 or less I'm sure, but I had the money burning a hole in my pocket and my patience to get into PC gaming was wearing thin.

Crysis 2 at max settings, looked to be running at 30-40fps, Skyrim ran like butter at max settings...easily 55-60fps or more, and Alien vs. Predator (released in 2010 I believe) at max settings is the smoothest of them all and MY do the lighting and shadows look damn good!

ohh sorrry i have not read the post carefully i thought you are asking for suggestions on a PC build .

Yes you had a good build you have strong enough PSU for SLI so in future you can go for that .

Out of curiosity, my motherboard supports Crossfire mode, but I've heard with THIS particular Mobo it's not good to do Crossfire...that you won't get results that would be considered "worth it". Something about the primary slot doing 16x something and the other slot only doing 4x something. Sorry, I'm not the most computer savvy person and I'm still learning, so I don't have the best vocab on the subject.

Agreed, for sli or crossfire you want a motherboard that will do 8x on each pcie slot when two cards are present. If you look up the specifications on the motherboard website it will tell you.

Ah, bummer. Crossfire will have to sit on the back burner for a while. So what kind of performance would I get if did Crossfire on this mobo? I guess it would boost the performance, but only a little?
