Hi there, just wanted to know if this is ok for a first build and any advice on what to change. I want to keep the price under 600 pound.
CPU: Intel core i5 4440 3.1 GHz quad core
Motherboard: Asus H81M-K micro ATX motherboard
Memory: teamgroup elite black 8Gb (2* 4Gb) DDR3
Storage: seagate 1Tb 7200 RPM
Video card: Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti card
PSU: corsair 500w CXM modular
Case: CiT spectra 2* USB3 gaming case
Operating system: windows 8.1

Solution
Corsair CXM (and CX) range of PSUs is made primarily for Office and how-end home use where the stresses are low and the PSU temperature does not rise much above 30C (because that it the rating of their primary and secondary capacitors). The temperatures and stresses of gaming can (and will) prematurely age these PSUs. I'd chose something better. Here's our general thinking on PSUs. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

As you can see from my signature, I use a similar system and it works well.

I made some adjustments.
