My first build just want some second opinions

Okay so this my first time on this forums mostly because it's the first time I've ever built my own PC. My main concern for the system is the motherboard it seems a lot of people get glitches with the asus brand, but I heard the pro was a good mobo. My goal with this pc is to be future proof for at least 5 years. Later I'll add a second GTX580 in sli would my psu support that? Everything else I think is fine maybe I could find a better monitor, is 4gb of ram good enough for now? I hear some motherboards have problems beyond dual channel and the more ram you have the slower it is. Thanks for any help I just really want my first PC to be smokin and have been spending the last few months tweaking and messing around with it.

I'm really not interested in an SSD until they are more mainstream and cheaper with more memory. I deal with pop ins/ longer loading times until then and just pop in an SSD later. I'd rather spend my money on the more quality stuff and at most I need only 500gb, I like the keyboard suggestion not sure about the ram and motherboard bundle and I'd rather just put extra fans on my cpu since they are more reliable and probably won't take so much room. The HAf922 i heard has great airflow and why i'm getting it. Thanks for the suggestions!

the rosewill blackhawk has 5 fans the haf 922 has 3 you do the math. i can see your point in the ssd.
seagate makes quality hdd's (as trusted as wd) and the 1tb is the same price as the 500gb you selected (well less since the seagate is in a combo deal). the ram and motherboard bundle is cheaper than your ram and mobo cost put together. gigabyte makes great motherboards (i say better than asus). the z68 ud4 is going to be out of stock soon since it is such a great deal (recently lowered the price 30$ for a new ud4 with virtu). 8gb's of ram is the standard and gskill makes arguably the best ram.

im not sure i understand what you are saying here. the h60 will be enough for a 5ghz oc for sure. i dont know how much higher anyone would want to go. also the hyper 212 plus w/2 fans does not beat the h60. it isnt very close.

I don't understand the need for people to spend $600 on a graphics card. 2 560tis run better then a 580 and cost less! There's no need to spend that much.. you could even go with a GTX 560 or a 6870 and still be fine with the option to sli/xfire later on. Also if you wait 1-2 months the prices will drop because of the new processors being released and new GPUs will come out too.

well you can sli the 580's later and that will last you much longer than 2 560 ti's or 6870's

Okay this is my finished build, if anyone thinks I'm wasting money tell me, though if it means sacrificing quality I won't have it.

After rebates and looking through some bundles it should come out to about 1500 dollars.

haha 1866 ram wont help you in games. just get that combo i posted 1600mhz is the standard for gamers. gskill makes great ram. ask anyone on the forums here. and why are you keeping that hp dvd burner? you are paying 10$ more than you need too (after shipping). if you arent getting a combo deal with the hdd here is a faster hdd that is bigger too and just as reliable (ask anyone on here)- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&Tpk=f3%201tb . case wise i would spend a little more and get something with fan filters so you arent sucking in a lot of dust- http://www.amazon.com/SILVERSTONE-RV02B-W-Steel-Tower-Computer/dp/B002M78KZG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312124740&sr=8-1 . this case is a lot more expensive at newegg. that is a great case it has great airflow great cable management and keeps everything clean w/dust filters. now i would go a little bit crazy on the speakers those just wont do- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121036 . for 250$? you can duel up some screens for 300$- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236050 thats a bigger resolution than 1920x1080p.

Humans can't tell the difference between 50 and 60 fps. If you really feel the need to run a game at 110 fps (which you can't really tell the difference) then go ahead. It's just my own personal opinion that a 580 isn't necessary. You can get a 560ti which is half the price and you won't notice a difference in your games. In the future, just pop another one in and that will still keep you up to date (let's say in 2 years and it will only be like $160 then if that much.)

Good suggestion on the RV02 case from mjmjpfaff...the raven is a good case but pick the case that you really want ;]

Switch to some g.skill 8gb 1600 RAM, that will be enough and save you like $40. That monitor is really expensive, you can get a 22" for like $150, try and save some $ there. Besides that everything looks good

i suggested a duel monitor setup for 300$. that will use the gtx 580 and run most games at 50-60 fps

I'd rather have 1 large and vibrant screen then two lesser screens I'd need more memory on the GTX for two screens and be spending about 200 dollars more. Besides I thought tri screens was really what people loved for FPS and racers. Also is that silverstonee really worth it when I can get a quality brand cooler master case for the same price.

The silverstone Raven is a great case. Cases are really more on preference, the HAF 932 is a great case too man. If I had like $80 extra for a case I would go withthe NZXT phantom but thats just me!

well the gtx 580 has enough memory for both screens easy. the silverstone is way more expensive than the cooler master you posted on newegg. that case is a great deal. silverstone makes arguably the best high end cases out there check out the silverstone fortress that thing is amazing. silverstone has been around for a long time making as good or better cases than coolermaster.
