[SOLVED] My first build - weird lines on screen

Hi There,

So I decided to build a PC for light gaming, music production and just general office work. I'd never done anything like this before so obviously was quite nervous. Here are my specs.
AMD Ryzen 5 1600
16GB Crucial Ballistix 2666
Sapphire RX470 Reference Card 4GB Refurbished with 12 months warranty (I think this is the problem)
Corsair VS450
MSI B450AM Pro Max
512GB Integral NVME SSD

Here is a video of the problems I'm getting. https://photos.app.goo.gl/CvgZ7DA5vFugjHSE7
After putting it all together, it booted first time (to my surprise) and went to BIOS where I was able to install Windows. The moment windows was installed, I immediately got weird checkerboard lines on the screen (photo attached) and then the screen would go black and the computer would then restart. There was also one instance where the screen went bright green. At first I thought this was because I hadn't yet installed the drivers for the GPU, but the computer was too unstable to do this (kept freezing and weird lines on Microsoft Edge) so I downloaded the drivers onto a USB from a different computer and was able to run the setup from that. After this it was a bit more stable but when I tried to open radeon software it kept crashing. Since then I have tried gaming - Assetto Corsa sometimes ran smoothly but at other points fully refused to load into the game, kicking me back to the menu. I then turned the computer off and on again and got the same lines when trying to log in. I am really confused and am just wondering what is causing the problem - I thought it was drivers but I have tried doing clean installs and also the problem has been there from the very beginning so I guess it is hardware.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I'm very confused as this problem seems really random and annoying, and the card works well at points but otherwise seems to cause the whole PC to crash. The GPU is under warranty but I would like to know if that is the problem and also if I am just being stupid and getting something wrong.

The weird patterns in the photo have come in different patterns and colours and seem to indicate that something isn't right.

Many thanks

It's most likely the card, try it in another system, if it does the same i suggest to take it back.
Or try another card in your system, and see what happens.
