Hi, this is my first my build and wondering what you guys think. I'm thinking of getting these so far:
Approximate Purchase Date: today but can wait if good reason.


Budget Range: under $900


System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming(starcraft 2, battlefield bad company 2, maybe battlefield 3)


Parts Not Required: found an hard drive, monitor and computer peripherals

and other than that I need to find a gpu, power supply for the computer any suggestions? and should I change anything to my current selections?

Get a full atx motherboard, z68 is newer but not a whole lot better than p67

Do not get the GTX 560, get the 560 ti. The ti version is much better for cheaper than the 560 you listed if you find the right place online. Newegg is usually best for prices.

You dont need an $80 HDD, a SATA II 32 MB cache is the same performance for around $50

I changed my format and I got windows 7 ultimate as an operating system

At that resolution a 560 ti or Radeon 6950 really pay off and keep the image details better at goodframe rates .

The version of windows needs to be 64 bit . Only get ultimate if you need the added features , otherwise Home premium is a better choice

my windows is from my cd which I already have and it's 64 bit.
just say that bestbuy is sold out of the 560 ti graphics card. should I stay with the same graphics card now or different one?

and does that 700w powersupply work for my specs?

also forgot to ask do I need some kind of fan, heatsink thing?

As it happens, I use the exact same motherboard, the Asus P8P67-M pro. I was a early sandy bridge adopter, and that was the only M-ATX P67 motherboard available.
It has been flawless, you should have no problem with it.'That said, it has been superceeded by the Z68 based motherboards.
The equivalent Z68 is about the same price:

Z68 features may all may not be of real use to you. The integrated graphics will not be used since you will have a discrete gaming card.
You might want to get a smal SSD to use the Z68 capability to cache your hard drive.

The storm sniper looks like an ok case to me.
Get it if you love it, cases are a personal thing.

I use a Silverstone TJ08-E M-atx case which is superb. It fits a tall 160mm cooler, and the included 180m fan keeps my GTX580 cool and quiet.
It seems to get out of stock quickly, so shop around:

sli/crossfire is the ability to install two graphics cards working together to improve graphics performance.
I am not much a fan when a good single card will do the job.

My short list of quality psu's includes Antec, Seasonic, PC P&C, XFX and Antec.
Sometimes it is best not to chase combo's.

I don't know which gpu you decided on.
Here is a list of typical psu requirements:
GTX550ti needs 400w with 24a on the 12v rails plus one 6-pin PCI-E power lead.

GTX560 needs 450w with 24a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.

GTX560Ti needs 500w with 30a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.

GTX570 needs 550w with 38a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.

GTX580 needs 600w with 42a on the 12v rails plus one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI-E power lead.

GTX590 needs 700w with 50a on the 12v rails plus two 8-pin PCI-E power leads or 4 6-pin power leads.

just noticed there are different gtx 560 ti boards, which one do you guys think is the best? the pny, gigabyte, msi, evga and etc if any.

Those are the guidelines from EVGA. It assumes the normal complement of hard drives, dvd, fans, some OC etc, which don't amount to very much anyway.
The graphics card suggestions tend to be conservative to account for crappy psu's that dont deliver the power that quality units do.
It is actually the +12v amp spec that is most important metric.

The GTX560ti is a good pick, it should run things at 1080P well. If you get a EVGA unit, they have a 90 day trade-up program for a better card. Don't know if it applies to Canada, go to their web site.

Even though a 500w psu will do the job for a GTX560ti, I suggest a 600w unit which is not more expensive. How about the Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-620 620W @$77?

I read some reviews and the COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M700 RS-700-AMBA-D3 700W seems good and it roughly the same price as that one.
Do I also need thermal paste and if so which one?

I also decided to a Intel i7 cpu.
