Heres my build. I do plan on changing the gpu later on, like to an Asus or Msi, so if you have any suggestions for that, please leave em down below. Also, for windows 7, I have an OEM from dell, is there a way that I could install it on my new motherboard, with out it being, ya know illegal.

Cpu- Amd FX 4130

Motherboard- MSI 970A-G43

GPU- evga geforce gt 630

Ram- Corsair Vengeance 2x4 8gb

PSU: Coolermaster 500w

Hard drive: Western Digital 500gb

SSD: Kingston Hyperx 120gb 3k

Optical Drive- Asus Optical drive

Case- Enermax Ostrog Gt

Well the only parts that I'm purchasing are the Mobo, cpu, memory, and case. All the other parts I have and Im using. And to answer your question $300-350 for the mobo, cpu, ram, and case.

Keep in mind that before you'll upgrade your GPU, you'll have to buy a new PSU, because the one that you have is a very poor unit. Cooler Master makes very bad PSU. Make sure that the next one that you get is either from Antec, Corsair, Seasonic or XFX. The wattage will depend on the GPU that you'll be getting, which will depend on your budget. Here's what I recommend you :

Thanks for the heads up on the PSU, for the cpu, is the extra 2 cores worth it? I'm pretty sure I'll be fine with Quad core, but Im not completely sure. Does Asus make better boards than MSI? I dont really want to spend extra for stuff I wont use. Lastly, for the case, I see that $20 is ending today, is there a back up case you recommend?

I would up the CPU to a FX-6300 or better.

As for the OS you might/will run into a problem trying to activate it on a none Dell product. How ever if you were to get Windows 8 x64 OEM that restriction is gone and you could freely move the OS to a different build at a later date.

Microsoft removed the restriction with Windows 8 but not Windows 7. I have seen some that were able to use phone activation and get it to work and others that were denied so it is kinda crap shoot as to weather it will work or not.

If it were me I would get rid of that Cooler Master PSU as soon as you can and get one from Seasonic Antec or such. Cooler Master does not really have a good track record when it comes to PSU's and if it goes it could take the whole system with it.

Im not doing Win 8, so to get the OS just call em up and hope for the best? what happens if I get denied?
