I am building my first computer, and lucky to have a price tag of 1500$. I have done as much foot work as I can without asking a community so here I am asking for input.

CPU : Intel Core i7-4820K 3.7GHz Quad-Core

CPU cooler : Cooler Master V8 GTS 82.0 CFM

Motherboard : Asus P9X79 PRO ATX LGA2011 /
asus sabertooth x79 deluxe (practically the same board but comes with a 5 year warrenty)

RAM : Patriot Viper 3 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133

SSD : A-Data S510 Series 60GB 2.5" SSD

HHD : WD 2TB

GPU : EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB

CASE : Raidmax ATX-818WB MicroATX Mid Tower

Power Supply : Corsair 650W ATX12V / EPS12V

CD Drive : Plextor PX-891SA-26 DVD/CD Writer

Would anyone change anything to get me a better bang for my buck?

i was planing on light gaming, but mostly 3d modeling programs. also my friend writes his own codes and wants to borrow my computers processing power on the occasion. is there something wrong with 2011 cpu/mobo combo?

No, the 2011 set-up is fine, I was just wondering why you chose it. Not really all that familiar with the ins and outs of 2011 hardware, but from what I have read here and elsewhere, the 2011 seems well suited for your intended usage.
