have dell 3847 inspirion. it does ok for school-graphics,etc.like to get a 10609(gforce fan). has factory power supply, thinking of going to 1200 watts. Should i look at chipsets? am gradually headed towards rendering. Am I going the right way? suggestions. not rich either!
terabyte hd, all the ram it can handle installed. looking more for video-audio than gaming.

Estimable
- Your PC uses integrated graphics and the factory power supply limits you to low wattage. You can still get away with using it though
- A larger full size graphics card will not fit in your case
- 1200 watts is only needed for extreme PCs with like 3 graphics cards. You most you would need is 500 watts.
- You can't upgrade your chipset, it's part of the motherboard.

My recommendation is get a 1030 GT or a 1050 GTX if you want to play some games. Your PC has a PCIe slot you need for an upgrade to a graphics card.

If you are doing more serious rendering (blender, maya) then you may want to consider a new PC as you would need a lot more CPU and GPU power.
